IBS Advisors provides an in-depth look at what is required to become an Energy Star HVAC Contractor.
We provide training in ACCA Manuals RS (residential systems), J (load calculations), D (duct design), H (heat pumps), S (system selection), T (terminal devices), and B (test and balancing). We don’t just teach you a software application, we teach you the real deal in the design manuals (HVAC design manuals and installation standards are produced by ACCA. Covering commercial and residential applications, the ACCA standards are referenced by the International Code Council codes).
Manual J is NOT a software tool; it is a procedure used to determine peak loads. Most HVAC training on Manual J only teaches the software application, not the actual procedure the software tools use to perform the calculations. If you don’t know the procedure, you can’t possibly know if the software is providing the correct solution. That is why we make it a point to educate our students about the procedures. This guarantees the best results.
Our HVAC training teaches HVAC contractors what is required to meet Energy Star installations, and what the verifiers are supposed to be checking.
Our one day Energy Star for HVAC Contractors course covers the requirements in the 2009 code plus the Energy Star HVAC Contractor and Rater Checklists.
